Welcome to the Waiariki Institute of Technology -
School of Forestry and Primary Industries.

Waiariki's Forest Management, Forest Operations, Solid Wood Processing, Biotechnology,
Sustainable Energy programmes, Agriculture and Horticulture prepare job-ready graduates.

 

 

 

The Waiariki School of Forestry and Primary Industries is located on two sites with regional teaching also being available. The Diplomas in Forest Management, and Sustainable Energy, and most short courses are taught primarily at the Mokoia Campus.

Timber Machining and other Wood Processing courses are taught on site at the Waipa Campus, as well as being available for on-site delivery.

The Agriculture, Horticulture and Forest Operations courses are taught across the Central North Island region - Rotorua, Tokoroa, Taupo, Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Waiariki School of Forestry and Primary Industries has the equipment and capability to train industry ready people in a hands on environment.

Forestry has a wide range of career options and possibilities, and the School of Forestry and Primary Industries is your best place to start. We offer training in a range of disciplines from Silviculture and Practical Logging through to timber remanufacturing including Saw Doctoring and Timber Machining. We also offer training for Forest Managers and Harvest Planners.

Through strong links with the Bay of Plenty's forest and agricultural industry, the programmes reflect today's industry needs.

The Waiariki School of Forestry and Primary Industries is the largest vocational forestry training institute in New Zealand, was established over 60 years ago by the New Zealand Government to train students in plantation forest management, sawmilling and wood manufacturing.

We are very proud of our School, and are keen to welcome all students to join our study programmes in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest Management, Forest Operations, Wood Processing, Biotechnology and Sustainable energy.
